Myriad’s experienced carpentry and joinery team use traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design to craft, supply and install (if required), a variety of engineered wood products, including:

  • Traditional post and beam framing from oak or other durable hardwoods as required; appropriate for the design, build and location

  • Internal and external glulam structures

  • Internal timber frame partitions

  • Complete timber frame house structures

  • Metsawood engineered wood products

  • Roof trusses, feature trusses using glulam, oak or other timber as appropriate for the design, build and location

The advantages of timber frames

  • Sustainability and the environment ~ Timber is a renewable resource, Myriad only source timber from responsibly manged forests. Timber framing reduces carbon emissions and acts as a carbon sink, appropriating CO2 throughout its lifecycle.

  • Time ~ Prefabricating off site significantly reduces construction time, which allows for faster assembly on site, enabling other trades to start work sooner, reducing overall build time.

  • Energy efficiency ~ Timber frames provide excellent thermal insulation, and help maintain comfortable indoor temperatures and reduces energy costs. Wood has natural insulating properties, this combined with airtight construction lead to lower heating and cooling demands on the property.
